If you have not met Sung Kang, he's a well known car enthusiast on and off screen. He is better known by Fast and Furious. That is how I recognize him. Not until a year ago, he built a Datsun 240 and made a noise in SEMA. The car not only is constantly getting pictures taken and shared about, it also has a story behind it. This year's sema, Sung is back again with his new build, and NRG Innovations was able to provide support going into the build and this is the story. The Car is going to auctioned off to raise to the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Check out his documented journey below.
Sung Kang and his crew (Christian, Tony, and Alexis) goes out to meet the owner of a 1972 Maverick. After checking out the vehicle and some negotiation, they were able to purchase the car for $1900 down from the asking price of $3500.
In this episode, we are introduced to the urchins that will be working on the car. Their past stories are revealed as we get to know them more.
We find out some grim news that Alexis' father has passed away. However, he holds strong and continues on his dreams and even receives a bit of good news at the end.
A breif history of the Maverick, some peeks of the work being done, and a more in-depth look into Christian's life.
Tony explains his passion for the sport and the build is finally taking shape. This concludes the first 5 episodes in the series but we await to hear the rest of their story...
